Performance, 2008.

In May 2008, Thomas Mailaender made a donation
of 3.000 toilet paper rolls to Marseilles branch
of the French charity organisation “Les Restos du Coeur”,
for their restaurant dedicated to homeless people.
According to the director, this amount of toilet paper
represents a one year use for the organisation. ↓

[…] “Mister Mailaender, we would like to express our deep
gratitude for the help you gave to our organisation by offering
us 3.000 toilet paper rolls. We don’t have the words to say to
you how much this action is important to us and how we feel
relevant to you for your help toward the homeless people.” ↓

Performance. Production: Villa Arson, Nice, 2007.

The first of April 2007, on the very early morning,
Thomas Mailaender dropped an ultrarealistic reproduction
of a giant mussel on the Nice beach and then called
the local newspapers.

Press article published in “Nice Matin” news paper.
“A polyester monster: one mussel that will be
hard to swallow.” ↓

Steve Young (www.volcanovillage.com) is a volcano
photographer based in Hawaï. He recently choosed to put
online his all archive royalty free. Beside this he develloped
a “photo fun business”: for 25 $ you can be part of one
of his picture. “Choose a background, strike a pose,
send us the picture. We will send you back your own
Volcano Fantasy Photo.”

Gone fishing

The Gone Fishing project tells the modern epic of
a young man fleeing his new responsibilities as a father
by going on holidays with buddies. Through a false
compilation of letters from the young dad to the young mom,
Thomas Mailaender invents a character: a sort of immature
Ulysses, more inspired by the beer, big-game fishing
or ping-pong tournaments that by his new-born child.
